Recap: Bucs 23, Eagles 21

TAMPA - Ronde Barber played Eagles killer again, returning two Donovan McNabb interceptions for touchdowns as the Bucs defeated the Eagles 23-21 despite not scoring an offensive TD.

And now, it’s only a footnote.

Matt Bryant, who had missed three field-goal attempts coming into today’s game, came through with the kick of his career - a 62-yarder as time expired - as the Bucs came back for an unlikely victory, and added another chapter to the Bucs-Eagles rivalry.

Barber’s big plays on defense helped overcome what should have been expected out of the Bucs offense. Cadillac Williams found some running room, rushing for 82 yards, but Bruce Gradkowski had only 104 passing yards as the Bucs couldn’t find the end zone.

But Michael Pittman’s 37-yard kickoff return following a 52-yard Brian Westbrook TD catch set the Bucs - and Bryant - up for what would be one of the most thrilling finishes in team history.

At 2-4, the Bucs have a modest two-game winning streak heading into next Sunday’s game at the Giants.

Amazing, simply amazing what positive thinking and team work can do.  I enjoy watching the contributions of each team member.  Let’s hear less hipe about individuals and more about the team effort.

Wow! Wow! Wow! For the second week in a row a great Buccaneer Football game! I wonder if Matt Bryant has seen the movie, “Facing the Giants”? If he has, I bet he had deja vu on that 62-yarder. If he has not seen it, he should take the whole team and coaches. Perseverance is a great thing! Keep Going Bucs!!!
